On behalf of the Brazilian Society of Immunology, we are pleased to invite you to attend our XLII Annual Meeting, which will be held in Salvador, State of Bahia, Brazil, from October 2nd to 6th, 2017 at Hotel Deville, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

This edition of SBI Congress will be dedicated to the topic of Mucosal Immunology. This Topic has been, until recently, a marginal field in Immunology even though mucosal surfaces represent our major interface with the environment and they lodge the largest collection of lymphoid cells in the body. In the past ten years this scenario changed after the discoveries on the critical role of intestinal microbiota and dietary components not only in inflammatory bowel diseases but also in autoimmune diseases, allergies, obesity and even neurologic disorders such as autism. All these reports caught the attention of immunologists and the field experienced an enormous growth.
